Coupling between two ferromagnetic films through a non-magnetic metallic layer
Institute of Physics, Technical University, Piotrowo 3, 60-965, Pozna, Poland
Received 20 February 1992; revised 27 April 1992. Available online 2 October 2002.
Coupling between two transition-metal ferromagnetic films separated by a layer of a simple metal is analyzed within a spin-polarized free-electron approximation for the conduction electrons in both ferromagnetic films. The corresponding coupling parameters J oscillates with the spacer thickness. It also varies oscillatory-like with the thickness of ferromagnetic films. The amplitude of the oscillations strongly depends on the magnetic polarization of the conduction electrons in the ferromagnetic films.
