S. Deng and X. F. Jin State Key Laboratory of Applied Surface Physics, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China Ruibao Tao Department of Physics, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China (Received 12 November 2001; published 19 March 2002) An intrinsic mechanism for the antiferromagnetic domain formation has been proposed in a two-dimensional Heisenberg square lattice. The results indicate that the competition between the magnetic anisotropy and the dipole-dipole interaction can indeed yield both the Bloch type and Néel type domain structures. Using a spin dynamics calculation with fast Fourier transformation, we further show some representative antiferromagnetic domain patterns and their phase diagram as a function of the competition. ©2002 The American Physical Society URL: http://link.aps.org/abstract/PRB/v65/e132406 doi: 10.1103/PhysRevB.65.132406 PACS: 75.50.Ee, 75.25.+z, 75.30.-m, 75.70.Kw Additional Information ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Full Text: [ PDF (176 kB) GZipped PS Order Document ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ References Citation links [e.g., Phys.
